Superhero tales are our modern mythology. Which makes me wonder what people thought of Homer's fans back in the day. Did they too huddle around in dingy shops, reading tales of adventure with the light of their pasty skin? Did they waste their lives away while others were have real experiences? Fighting in real battles? Feeling heartbreak and betrayal? Touching women not made of papyrus and goat's urine?

I'm sure if any lazy archeologist bothered to study this, the answer would be yes.
