Heresies Against Progress and Other Illusions WRITTEN By John GrayI was initially afraid that this might be the John Gray who wrote Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. To my great and indeed rather premature relief, this turned out not to be the case. This John Gray writes in (mercifully) short essays, which leave out tiresome critical analysis and just make a series of assertions. Here are his main points, summarised:
1) I am an animist. 2) Whee! 3) We are all going to die. 4) That's quite all right, though. 5) I used "sex" in the chapter title to grab your attention and make your silly atheist butt an animist, too. (Whee!) 6) Torturing animals is bad. 7) Torturing Frenchmen is bad. 8 ) Torturing Muslims is OK, and much to be encouraged. 9) The US should keep out of Iraq. 10) Britain should not associate with the US. 11) Europe should not associate with Britain. 12) Large governments are bad. 13) International cooperation is bad. 14) But anarcho-syndicalism is bad, too. 15) Whee!
