VAMPIRES
Karate Party isn't a large endorser of the vampire. We find the way they’re currently portrayed about as terrifying as arts students. Pompous, pretentious, preposterous. Embarrassing attempts at being all gothic and erotic. They wouldn’t last a second in a room with Leatherface. In the past things were great. George Hamilton in Love at First Bite. Blacula. Max Schrek (because we can’t discount the possibility that he was a vampire). The Count from Sesame Street. And some of those hopping vampires.
While we aren’t backward-looking Luddites, a balanced view of the film world leads us to conclude that some things suck in their current form. Until vampires get an interesting personality back, they’ll be deservedly stuck in their direct-to-video rut.
