Root
Root was not named so at birth, but took the name during a ritual that followed hours of drug-induced trance with some seriously swell fellows, that might in fact have been part of an island-resourt luau, and was meant to represent his great thirst for life, and his resemblance to a hairy Kumara.
Some have suggested that the name is an obscure reference to Enoch Root, from the book Cryptonomicon; others that the name was a blatant attempt to steal the glory from the Karate Party SYSADMIN and capture the hearts and loins of the internet groupies the site has been steadily generating. By ensuring that both rumours are kept alive, Root has been enjoying the benefits of both, while he engages in other pursuits: his research in the heartlands of Indochina (investigating the purported increase in size of the mamery glands of young urban women: the result of an increase of nutrition brought on by modern industrialisation, or due to the application of ice to the areola in an attempt to sexually arouse female subjects), his goal to find a six-degrees-of-seperation link to someone that can't believe it's not butter, and of course his work for Kararte Party, be it sticking up for the little guy, or erotic fiction that sticks the little guy up.
