So Pinochet is dead , and another military strongman bites the dust, which to Karate Party at least, is a happy reminder of the mortality of even the most rat-boyish types. Of course that doesn’t mean that our friend Bainimarama will get his just rewards anytime soon, although for amusement value his appointment of his doctor as PM has to rate highly. Not that one should be amused by such things. Oh, and the proposed amendment to the NZ Copyright Act has been published – Not only are we planning to adopt harsh DMCA style DRM rules , we are also only going to be allowed to format change music legally owned for two years. After that period is up, it is at the discretion of the government whether to keep allowing this. How awesomely shit.
