EMI has agreed to sell its back catalogue of music through iTunes without DRM , which is simply breath taking. At last a major record company has broken ranks and acknowledged the futility of DRM. Of course here in NZ we are still hearing submissions on the Copyright Amendment Bill, which in its current form looks to be very much in favour of helping publishers encumber digital content with DRM/TPM for eternity. I wonder if this announcement will have any affect on our debate, now that it is no longer certain that we will soon reside in a paradise of locked down digital music? Or are we doomed to repeat the mistakes the US made a decade ago while they begin to move on?
With this happy news aside Karate Party begs to report that we are closer than ever in our quest to surpass the evil Melbourne Karate Party's MySpace friend count. Once that happens then, well, we shall no doubt accrue all sorts of nice things. Till this time of glory occurs please sup on this fine example of an angry rant , care of eXile, which is some kind of ezine I believe.
