Having kicked about in Notting Hill for a week or two now the CEO has this wisdom to offer: Gentrification is a nice way of saying “we kicked all the poor people out, bar that guy who runs the neat little shop selling stuff that we think is kitsch and cool then put a load of cafes selling espresso where all the shops used to be, lolol”. That last bit is 100% Juan btw. This is not to say that the CEO doesn’t appreciate a good coffee or clean streets and well kept houses, he just has heard tales of the past and wishes he had some sort of suburb based time machine.
