After a long absence due to a computer theft and laziness the Karate Party team are back and full of productive rage. For 2008 will be the Year of Writing More Stuff, stuff that reflects the sum total of human experience. Or so we hope. It is possible that there will be a bit of ranting about other things, like elections in the US or NZ, or how dirty, polluted or evil the modern world is, or the joys of travelling. To tide you over till that, check out our predictions: Predictions for 2008 More angsty emo from the tech reporters over Blu Ray vs HDTV. Hooray for technology upgrades for the sake of business development More angsty emo about DRM and digital copyright. A few countries are in the process of modifying copyright law to better reflect the impact of digital media, the Internet and copying, as well as the heartfelt desires of industry lobbyists. If we are really lucky we will all get a decade of shittily restrictive pro DRM laws even though media companies largely abandon the concept. New angst amongst the people as food prices shoot up in a manner akin to fuel prices. Maybe food price protests will no longer be confined to developing worlds? Women's clothing will continue to be heavily influenced by late 19th/early 20th century European military uniforms. Karate Party's fashion advice for the women is to go to the military history section of your library (they all have them) and do some research. We suggest Marshal Petain as a good starting point.
